Urban Space Consultancy (Pty) Ltd was the appointed Urban Planners for the proposed urban design framework plan for the Umgeni Bird Park. The team of USC and Green Inc(Landscape Architects) were appointed for Stage 1 (Inception) and Stage 2 (Concept and Viability) over a 5 month project duration. 

The project includes the development and expansion of the park as an educational and recreational facility whilst enhancing, urban fabric and development opportunities. The project proposes the upgrade of the park as a key educational, lifestyle, recreational and tourist node, one essential component of a larger framework of recreational activities which spans the city.
