Proposed new commercial precinct

Urban Space Consultancy (Pty) Ltd are the appointed Architects and Urban Designers for The Weir; a new 6000m2 retail centre, 100 bed Business hotel and conference facility and a sub-acute hospital. The development forms part of the new riverfront development in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal by the Carican Group.

A critical urban component of the larger Campsdrift urban development, The Weir commercial node provides a landmark and orienteering focus for the larger development whilst adding to density, amenity, recreational and retail options of the site.
